SCX
SCX Digital is a very high technology product where the digital system is based around the car rather than the track (i.e. the opposite to Carrera and Scalextric's "switching points" crossing system). SCX have designed their digital system from the ground up and incorporated all the latest design touches into both the track and the cars - it's not designed to be backwards compatible with SCX Classic or Scalextric, so there are no compromises.
SCX are currently developing a conversion unit to convert standard SCX (and possibly other brands) to their digital system. Since the lane change system is built into the car not the track on this system, this is a more involved conversion than the Scalextric "chip" used to convert cars to the Scalextric digital.
